Here is the update from the March 2017 Vallejo Waterfront Weekend Committee Meeting. The meeting was held at the Vallejo Yacht Club on Monday March 13, 2017. The principal business at the meeting was the reports from the individual event leaders.
Below are a list of the confirmed events and activities. Sign up forms and more information will be posted as soon as it is available.
Exhibiting Vallejo at it’s finest now for it’s 4th consecutive year, the Vallejo Waterfront Weekend returns! Taking place over two days during the first weekend in October —October 7 & 8, 2017— this festival is a collaboration of activities and events for the entire family.
Planning is well underway, and the Vallejo Waterfront Weekend is in search of new beneficiaries for the event. We are currently accepting proposals from local non-profits to be one of this year’s major beneficiaries. Last year, the Weekend raised over $20,000 for the Mira Community Cultural Center, and that amount is expected to increase this year.
The Vallejo Waterfront Weekend supports all non-profits, but is looking specifically for 501 (C) 3 organizations as our major beneficiary. Click here to download a Beneficiary Proposal Form. Or call (707) 738-6964 for additional information or to request a Proposal. Proposals can be dropped off or mailed to Visit Vallejo, 289 Mare Island Way, Vallejo CA 94590. (The Visit Vallejo office is in the ferry terminal.) Submissions are due by March 15, 2017. Beneficiaries for this year’s event will be chosen by March 31, 2017.
Although the committee has selected a major beneficiary each year, fundraising opportunities are possible for other non-profits to raise money for their organizations by conducting individual events at the festival. Please inquire with any ideas or thought on creating a presence for your organization at the event. The Vallejo Waterfront Weekend unites the community and supports numerous groups, all for a good cause, and it’s a great way to get exposure to the greater Vallejo community.
